Siloxane Removal from Biogas

Siloxanes are silicon-based compounds commonly found in biogas, especially from wastewater treatment plants.

During combustion, siloxanes form silicon dioxide (SiO₂), which creates hard ceramic deposits inside engines and turbines.

This leads to:
✔ engine damage
✔ efficiency loss
✔ expensive maintenance

Solution

Activated carbon is the most effective method for siloxane removal. It adsorbs siloxanes before combustion, protecting critical equipment.

Important

Separate filtration stages for H₂S and siloxanes are recommended for maximum efficiency.
